Mafalda of Hesse
Mafalda Margarethe Princess of Hesse (born July 6, 1965 in Kiel ) is a German fashion designer . She is the oldest daughter of the entrepreneur Moritz von Hessen and a granddaughter of Princess Mafalda von Savoyen and grew up on the family estate Gut Panker in Schleswig-Holstein . She comes from the House of Hesse , which is run by her brother Heinrich after the death of her father , and from the House of Sayn-Wittgenstein on her mother's side .
After training as a costume designer and set designer at New York University , she worked as a model and designer for various fashion houses, especially for Giorgio Armani . In autumn 2015 she presented her first own collection in New York ; previously she had offered her fashion via teleshopping on HSE24 .
Mafalda von Hessen has lived in Rome for 25 years and has been married three times. Their second marriage has two daughters.
