Magdalena Egger (born January 22, 2001 in Feldkirch ) is an Austrian ski racer . She currently belongs to the C-team of the Austrian Ski Association and competes in all disciplines. Her greatest success so far is the three junior world championship titles at the 2020 World Cup .

biography

At the age of three, Magdalena Egger first went on skis under the guidance of her father, who is a ski instructor. After she started training with the ski club at elementary school age, she switched to the Schruns ski school and, in 2015, to the Stams ski school .

At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, she won her first FIS slalom race at Pass Thurn . She also became Austrian youth champion in giant slalom and won three medals at the European Youth Olympic Festival .

After good results in FIS races at the beginning of the 2019/20 season, she was used for the first time in the European Cup at the end of November and after she had already scored points in all disciplines, Egger surprisingly made her debut in the traditional night slalom in Flachau also in the World Cup . She crowned the season and her career so far at the 2020 Junior World Championships . She first won in the downhill, which she actually only wanted to ride for training reasons, then the Super-G and later the combination, in front of her teammate Lisa Grill .
