Martina Schäfer (writer)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Martina Schäfer, (pseudonym Magliane Samasow), (born April 6, 1952 in Düsseldorf ) is a German German scholar and cultural historian of the feminism movement , as well as a composer . Her research is mainly in the field of violence prevention and prehistoric women's studies , especially matriarchy research , and she is also the author of a feminist songbook .

In the 1990s she published feminist science fiction and fantasy as well as a feminist songbook under her pseudonym .

Since 2011, other novels have been published under their real names, mostly detective novels that are set in a prehistoric environment.

She is critical of the matriarchy theory and develops a new theory on the relationship between women and authority and violence.

Life

Schäfer began studying pedagogy in 1976 , did his doctorate in German studies in 1986 and obtained a master's degree in history in 2003 . In 2007 she obtained the Swiss school director's certificate.

With Heide Göttner-Abendroth , Schäfer founded the Hagia project, "a kind of matriarchal private university". Due to methodological deficiencies in the research work of the project, Schäfer separated from the research community.

Her work “The Wolf Woman in Sheep's Clothing. Authoritarian Structures in the Women's Movement ”(2001) criticizes feminist and lesbian matriarchy research and its authoritarian structures.

position

Schäfer considers theories on matriarchy to be inspired by myths in the tradition of racist or reactionary theorists such as Comte de Gobineau or Joseph Campbell. This continues with Bertha Eckstein-Diener , Josefine Schreier and Elizabeth Gould-Davis, but also with more recent authors such as Göttner-Abendroth, Christa Mulack and Carola Meier-Seethaler.

She criticizes the structures of the Hagia Academy as sect-like.

Quote

... to achieve the goals of the women's movement, you need strategies, perseverance and content-related competence. It is not »magic« that changes the world, as the title of a book by Angelika Aliti says, but work, not a »wild look« as Luisa Francia claims, but knowledge, a clear understanding of the machinations of others, solidarity and a common approach.4 Yes In all of these highly acclaimed, high-circulation "belly button books" there is no thought that helps women today in these long-term struggles.
