Magnus von Lagerström (born June 21, 1666 in Stockholm as Magnus Gabriel Laurin ; † 1736 ) was a Swedish government official and Chancellor of Swedish Pomerania .

Life

Magnus Laurin was the son of Johann Laurinus (1609–1686), city notary and councilor in Stockholm, and Margaretha Utter († 1710). He was a land clerk in Nyköping before he became Häradshövding in the Södertörn district in 1689 . In 1690 he became secretary of the commission for the reduction of goods in Pomerania . On April 29, 1691 he was raised to the Swedish nobility under the name Lagerström zu Gnatzkow and Kuntzow . In 1693 he was appointed state and feudal secretary and in 1704 a councilor to the Swedish government in Pomerania .

By resolutions of the Swedish King Charles XII. on October 5 and 15, 1702 he was appointed commissioner for the creation of a state register. From 1703 to probably 1709 his commission dealt with the compilation of the hoof records on the basis of the Swedish land survey of Pomerania . When the Swedish government in Szczecin was overturned during the Great Northern War in 1715, he stayed in the city and retired. During this time he wrote a description of the country in Swedish Pomerania. After the Treaty of Stockholm he was appointed Chancellor of the Swedish Pomeranian government, which is now based in Stralsund . He held this office until 1728. In that year, on behalf of King Friedrich, he conducted a new calculation of the hoof records and created a project for a new state survey.
