Magny-le-Freule is a town in the French Calvados department in Normandy . Until 2016 it was an independent municipality and a member of the Communauté de communes de la Vallée d'Auge . It belonged to the canton of Mézidon-Canon in the Arrondissement Lisieux and became part of the newly created municipality of Mézidon Vallée d'Auge , a commune nouvelle , with effect from January 1, 2017 . Since then it has been a Commune deleguée . The residents call themselves Magnyfreulien. The neighboring towns are Bissières in the northwest, Méry-Corbonin the northeast, Biéville-Quétiéville in the east, Mézidon-Canon in the south, Ouézy in the southwest and Croissanville in the west.
