Mahir Çakar

Mahir Çakar (* 1945 in İzmir ) is a Turkish horn player .

The musician from Turkey , who received his training in Germany in the 1960s , was at the Richard Wagner Festival in Bayreuth for the first time in 1975 . From 1980 to 1991 Çakar was the first horn player at the Stuttgart Opera and worked, among other things, on the television recording of Loriot's Martha production . He has also made a number of German records and radio recordings. The concerts for 2 horns (1982) published by BMG were performed several times.

Many German horn players who are active today have learned from Çakar in Stuttgart as well as at the University of Music and Performing Arts Mannheim , for example Christian Lampert and Christian Fitzner . Çakar also taught at the Turkish Bilkent University in Ankara , whose youth symphony orchestra he still heads today.

Çakar lives in Germany and Turkey.
