Maik Herold

Maik Herold (* 1982 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a German political scientist with a research focus on political theory . Together with Hans Vorländer and Steven Schäller , he conducts research on the topics of Pegida and New Rights .

Life

Herold completed a degree in political science , law and modern / modern history as well as an accompanying course on the subject of regional studies in Latin America at the Technical University of Dresden and Boston University . During this course of studies from 2005 to 2007 he was a student assistant and tutor at the Dresden Professorships for Political Theory and History of Ideas and International Politics . After completing his studies, he worked from 2008 to 2009 as a research assistant in subproject I “Constitution as an institutional order of the political” of the Collaborative Research Center 537 “Institutionality and Historicity” and at Hans Vorländer's professorship for political theory and the history of ideas . Since April 2009 he has been a lecturer at the Institute for Political Science at the Technical University of Dresden.

Herold has been a research assistant since 2009, initially from 2009 to 2015 in the sub-project H “Democratic order between transcendence and common spirit” of the Collaborative Research Center 804 “Transcendence and common spirit”, from 2015 to 2018 in the research project “The good citizen. Expectation Horizons and Attribution Practices ”and in 2016 at the Professorship for Political Theory and History of Ideas and since October 2017 at the Mercator Forum Migration and Democracy (MIDEM).
