Steven Schäller

Steven Schäller (* 1976 in Jena ) is a German political scientist with a research focus on political theory . Together with Hans Vorländer and Maik Herold , he researches the topics of Pegida and New Rights .

Life

Schäller completed a degree in political science, communication science and history at the Technical University of Dresden , which he completed in 2003 with a master's thesis on the subject of “The reference as an argument. Prejudices in the case law of the Federal Constitutional Court ”with Hans Vorländer . From March 2003 to February 2015 he was a freelancer at the Federal Agency for Civic Education on the subject of "Europe". From January 2004 to December 2008 he worked as a research assistant in project I “Constitution as an institutional order of the political” at the Collaborative Research Center 537 “Institutionality and Historicity” and at the Professorship for Political Theory and the History of Ideas at the Technical University of Dresden.

Schäller was a PhD scholarship holder of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (2005–2008), from April 2009 to March 2010 research assistant at the Professorship for Political Theory and the History of Ideas in Dresden and from April 2010 to September 2014 on the project H “Democratic order between Transcendence and Common Sense ”of the Collaborative Research Center 804“ Transcendence and Common Sense ”ibid. In June 2013 he did his doctorate at the TU Dresden on the subject of “Federalism and sovereignty in the federal state. Basics of the history of ideas and the jurisprudence of the Federal Constitutional Court. ”And was there from October 2014 to July 2016 research assistant in the research project“ The good citizen. Horizons of Expectation and Attribution Practices ". In August 2016 he worked as a freelancer for the Saxon State Center for Political Education .

Since September 2016, Schäller has been a research assistant at the Professorship for Political Theory and History of Ideas at the Technical University of Dresden.
