Maik Nothnagel

Maik Nothnagel (born December 24, 1966 in Bad Liebenstein ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). He was a member of the Thuringian state parliament from 1999 to 2009 and from 2012 to 2014 .

Life and work

Nothnagel has lived with a disability since he was born . After training as a commercial clerk from 1983 to 1985, Nothnagel completed his first degree in industrial engineering between 1985 and 1990 . Between 1994 and 1997 he obtained a diploma as a social worker / social pedagogue (FH) while working. Furthermore, Nothnagel successfully completed training as a peer counselor in 1998 .

Nothnagel is a member of the Jena Center for Self-Determined Living. V. , board member of the professional association Peer Counseling eV , district chairman of the social association Germany in Schmalkalden-Meiningen and member of ForseA e. V .

From autumn 2010 to July 2012, Nothnagel was the social policy advisor for the Federal Association of Self-Help for the Physically Disabled (BSK) in Berlin.

Maik Nothnagel is unmarried, has no children and lives in Steinbach-Hallenberg , ( district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen ).

Nothnagel is a member of the Association Council of the German Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband, Gesamtverband DPWV, and state board member of SoVD Central Germany.

Nothnagel has been a consultant for health and social affairs at BSK eV in Berlin since March 1, 2015.

Political party

Nothnagel became a member of the Left Party.PDS on January 1, 2006 . Nothnagel was not active in any political party until the election to the Thuringian state parliament on September 12, 1999 . Since 2011 he has been a member of the spokesperson's council of the Federal Working Group BAG "Self-determined Disability Policy". On July 6, 2014, Maik Nothnagel was elected by the LEFT party executive committee for inclusion.

MP

Initially independent , he moved into the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district council (since 1999) and the Steinbach-Hallenberg city council (in June 2004) for the PDS. Since September 1999 Maik Nothnagel was a member of the Thuringian state parliament and there spokesman for disability policy and consumer protection of the left-wing parliamentary group . After the state election in Thuringia in 2009 , he left the state parliament because 28th place on the list was not enough for direct re-election and he could not win his constituency Schmalkalden-Meiningen I against Michael Heym (CDU).

On July 1, 2012, he returned to the Thuringian state parliament as a successor. He was the first nationwide inclusion policy spokesman for a parliamentary group. In the state elections in 2014, he was again defeated as a direct candidate in his constituency against Michael Heym and left the Thuringian state parliament again. On the national list of his party, he ran in 30th place.
