Maike Stöckel

Maike Stöckel (born March 6, 1984 in Bielefeld ) is a German hockey player .

Maike Stöckel started at the Essen Hockey Club when she was four years old . Via the Raffelberg Club , she switched to her current Rot-Weiß Köln club . In 2007 the striker became German champion with Cologne. In 2008 she was runner-up like in 2005.

In 2001 she became the U18 European Champion after losing in the European Championship finals in 1999 and 2000 with the U16 national team. At the European Indoor Championships in 2002 Maike Stöckel made her debut in the German national hockey team and immediately won her first title. In 2004 and 2006 she was able to contribute again to victory at the European Indoor Championships. Outdoors, she finished second in the 2004 FIH Champions Trophy ; In 2006 the German team won this tournament, but only finished eighth at the world championships. At the 2007 World Indoor Championships in Vienna, the German team took third place. After finishing third at the Champions Trophy 2007, the team became European champions in Manchester. In 2008 Stöckel took part in the Champions Trophy for the fifth time, and in Mönchengladbach they came second. At the 2008 Olympic Games she finished fourth with the German national team as well as at the 2010 World Cup , and she won the silver medal at the 2009 and 2011 European Championships .
