Maja Sokač (born May 31, 1982 in Split , born Maja Zebić ) is a Croatian handball player .
Career
Sokač initially played handball in Sinj . From 1996 she ran for Split Kaltenberg. After the outside player was under contract with RK Lokomotiva Zagreb from the summer of 2004 , she joined the league rivals ŽRK Podravka Vegeta in February 2005 . For Podravka Vegeta Sokač played a total of seven seasons, in which she won the national double in each season. She also won the Women's Regional Handball League in 2008/09 . In the 2011/12 season Sokač was under contract with the Spanish club SD Itxako and 2012/13 with the Serbian first division club RK Zaječar , with whom she won the championship and the cup. In the summer of 2013 she signed a contract with the Macedonian association ŽRK Vardar SCBT . With ŽRK Vardar SCBT she won the Macedonian Championship in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and the Macedonian Cup in 2014, 2015 and 2016. For the 2016/17 season she moved to the Turkish first division club Ankara Yenimahalle BSK . She gave birth to a daughter in March 2018.
Sokač has so far played 159 international matches for the Croatian national team , in which they scored 428 goals. In summer 2012 she took part in the Olympic Games in London .
