The 2008/09 Women's Regional Handball League was the premiere season of the Women's Regional Handball League . The season started on September 3, 2008 and ended on March 31, 2009.

Podravka Vegeta won the title ahead of ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica and Hypo Niederösterreich .

For financial reasons for the club, two teams left this competition early in the first season. These are Cometal Gjorče Petrov Skopje and Radnički Belgrade . The results against these teams were canceled and the league continued. The Croatian club Podravka Vegeta secured the title in the first season .
