Make Music TV is the largest video-on-demand platform for concerts and other music-related content on the Internet. The offer currently includes several hundred concerts as well as music documentaries, festival reports and music films, which are available to users anytime and anywhere with a monthly subscription.

offer

The company offers a subscription model ( subscription video-on-demand ) with which all content is available for a monthly basic price of 9.90 euros. The offer can currently be tested free of charge for the first month. The media library can be used on all internet-enabled devices, including all tablets and smartphones with the Apple iOS , Android and Windows operating systems . Furthermore, a Smart TV app is available for all Samsung Smart TVs built from 2012 onwards. The subscription can be canceled monthly on all devices. Since September 2014, Make Music TV has been offering ultra high definition streaming on Samsung smart devices in cooperation with Samsung. The cooperation was presented at the international radio exhibition in Berlin, where Peter Gabriel's concert "Back to Front" was streamed as the first concert in ultra high definition.

In addition to its main business, the company also exploits its large license catalog of music-related content for TV routes in cooperation with private broadcasters and pay-TV providers.

history

The company was founded in 2011 with an investment by Media Ventures GmbH. At this point in time, concerts could be offered individually. Each concert was booked individually and was then available to the user for 48 hours. In November 2013, the new website was put into operation based on modern web and streaming technology and at the same time switched to the subscription model.

In addition to operating the video-on-demand platform, the company has also been working as a license administrator with Sky Deutschland AG since 2013 .

After Samsung TV owners in Germany, Austria and Switzerland were able to download the Smart TV app from the Samsung Smart Hub in winter 2013, an expanded cooperation was decided for 2014. Since January 2014, Make Music TV has been available in 52 European countries on all Samsung Smart TV models from 2012 onwards.

Market overview

As a special interest portal, the company primarily serves customers who are interested in music-related content with its range of concerts, music documentaries and festival reports. It is in national competition with other German video-on-demand platforms such as the Vivendi subsidiary Watchever , Maxdome from ProSieben / Sat.1 Media and Snap from the Sky Group . American mass market offerings such as Hulu and Netflix can be seen as strong competitors in international competition .
