Makris
Makris ( Greek Μάκρις ) is a nymph of Greek mythology . She is the daughter of Aristaios and Autonoë , sister of Aktaion and nurse of Dionysus .
She nourished the young Dionysus, whom Hermes had given her, with honeycomb. Expelled from Euboea by Hera , according to a later version of the myth, she lived in a grotto on the island of the Phaeacians (which Apollonios equates with Kerkyra ). Her presence was a blessing for the agriculture of the country, so that the island was named Makris after her . The wedding of Jason and Medea took place in their grotto .
It is possible that she can be identified with Nysa , who also appears in mythology as Dionysus' wet nurse and is referred to by Diodorus as the daughter of Aristaios.
