Painter of Tarquinia RC 6847
The painter of Tarquinia RC 6847 was a Attic - black-figure vase painters in the late period of the style. The painter's works are dated around 520 to 510 BC. Dated.
The painter of Tarquinia RC 6847 is stylistically very close to the Rycroft painter . His name vase in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale in Tarquinia shows the battle between Apollo and Heracles over the Delphic tripod . The motif is strongly reminiscent of a hydria by the Madrid painter around the same time . Similarities with the attempts made at the same time in the red-figure style to depict the anatomy and movement of people are unmistakable.
