Malindi was a district in the province Coast in Kenya . The capital of the district was Malindi . In the Malindi district, about 281,552 people lived on 7751 km². As part of the 2010 constitution , the Kenyan districts were dissolved. The area is now part of Kilifi County .

Malindi was divided into four divisions. One of the divisions was the Tsavo East National Park . The district was divided into two electoral districts divided, Malindi and Magarini.

Attractions
In addition to the Tsavo East National Park , the Malindi Marine National Park and the Watamu Marine National Park were also located in the Malindi district.
religion
In 2000, John Paul II founded the diocese of Malindi from cessions of territory from the diocese of Garissa and the archdiocese of Mombasa . Malindi is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Mombasa. About 22,000 Catholics live in the catchment area of the diocese.
