Malte Refardt

Malte Refardt (* 1974 in Hamburg ) is a German bassoonist . He is principal bassoonist of the NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover and since 2006 professor of bassoon at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen .

Life

Refardt studied bassoon from 1995 to 1997 at the Folkwang Hochschule Essen. In 1997 he moved to the University of Music and Theater in Hanover, which he graduated with a diploma in 2000. Since 2003 he had taught as a lecturer at the Folkwang University. In April 2004 he passed the concert exam at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne.

As principal bassoonist of the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, he played under the conductors Pierre Boulez , Kent Nagano and Claudio Abbado during his studies . He played u. a. as principal bassoonist at the Bavarian State Opera under Zubin Mehta and has been principal bassoonist with the Saito Kinen Orchestra , the Tokyo Opera Nomori and the Mito Chamber Orchestra under Seiji Ozawa since 2003 .

In addition, Refardt a. a. in the Oktoplus ensemble and with Eduard Brunner, Ana Chumachenco , Natalia Gutman , Wen-Sinn Yang, the Ma'alot-Quintet or the Ensemble Acht . With the Arte Ensemble, founded by soloists from the NDR Radiophilharmonie, Malte Refardt appears at numerous renowned music festivals, such as B. at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival . He is a regular guest at various German orchestras such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra or the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra . In the field of new music, Malte Refardt has been part of the Ensemble Modern (Frankfurt) time and again since 1995 .

From 2009 he also took over the artistic direction of the Domleschger Summer Concerts in Switzerland together with Taia Lysy. At the Domleschg Summer Concerts he continues to appear as a soloist and as a chamber musician.
