The Malysh Mountain ( Russian Гора Малыш Gora Malysch , German ' Toddler Mountain ' , Norwegian Malyshknatten ) is a 2640 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In the Wohlthatmassiv it rises southwest of the Skeidshovden .
It was discovered and mapped using aerial photographs during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers mapped it on the basis of aerial photographs and measurements of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960). Soviet scientists, who also named it, mapped it again between 1960 and 1961. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the Russian name into English in 1970.
