Mammillaria glassii forms cushions. The spherical to cylindrical shoots are 3 to 10 centimeters high and 3 to 10 centimeters in diameter. The cylindrically shaped warts are without milky sap . The axillae are covered with 20 to 30 white bristles up to 2.5 centimeters long or they are bare. The 1 to 8  central spines are 0.4 to 0.7 inches long.
