Man Must Die is a technical death metal band from Glasgow , Scotland that was formed in 2002.
history
In October 2002 the band was formed by singer Joe McGlynn, guitarist Alan McFarland, bassist Danny McNab and drummer John Lee. After a few months, the demo The Season of Evil was released in 2003. The demo was sent to various labels until it finally came to a contract with Retribute Records . In 2004 the band played at various festivals, including the Maryland Deathfest .
The first album ... Start Killing was recorded in the studio under the direction of Kataklysm guitarist JF Dagenais ( Misery Index , Despised Icon ). The album was released in May 2004.
The release caught the attention of Relapse Records , making the band the first British band to be signed. The album The Human Condition was recorded in the studio of JF Dagenais in Canada and released in the summer of 2007. After the release, Man Must Die went on tour with bands like Beneath the Massacre , Aborted , Kataklysm and Misery Index .
In the summer of 2008, drummer John Lee left the band and was replaced by Matt Holland. In late 2008 the album No Tolerance for Imperfection was recorded and finally released in early August 2009.
style
The band's style is characterized by the technically demanding way of playing and the mixture of aggressiveness and melody. In terms of sound, the works of Man Must Die are reminiscent of bands such as All Shall Perish and Neuraxis .
