Manduro (born March 9, 2002 , † June 27, 2020 ) was an English thoroughbred horse that led the world rankings of the best horse racing horses in 2007 (World Thoroughbred Racehorse Rating - formerly International Classification : 134 lbs). In his career, the stallion won ten of his 18 races, was 3 times second, 4 times third and 1 time fourth with a total of 1,513,996 euros in prize money.

Between 2004 and 2007 he was one of the best gallops in Germany. He was in the care of the most successful European horse trainer, the French subscription champion André Fabre , in Chantilly near Paris . In his first year as a racehorse in 2004 - when he was already at the top of the year with a superior win in the price of the winter favorite - Manduro earned 87,550 euros, in 2006 it was already 223,599 euros. His most successful year was 2007. The victory in the Prince of Wales' Stakes in June alone resulted in prize money of around 330,000 euros. This success was the first victory of a horse from German breeding and German ownership in a race at the Royal Ascot Meeting . He climbed to position one in the official world rankings for racehorses and was one of the favorites for the " Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe " in October 2007 in Paris . The “dress rehearsal” for this race in Longchamp, the “ Prix Foy ” on September 16, 2007, was won by Manduro under jockey Stéphane Pasquier . After the race it was announced that Manduro had sustained an injury that prevented him from racing.

The Cologne banker Georg Baron von Ullmann had Manduro - a son of Ullmann's successful galopper Monsun , who u. a. Shirocco's father was bought at an auction in Baden-Baden in 2003 for 130,000 euros . He sold the horse in August 2007 for a double-digit million sum to one of the world's largest breeders and owners, Sheikh Mohammed al-Maktoum from Dubai. In his stud in Ireland was Manduro since 2008 for a stud fee set up by € 40,000 as a breeding stallion. Despite some successes, Manduro was unable to establish himself as a stallion in Ireland, so that after a few years his owner transferred him to the Haras du Logis in France, where he is now available to breeders for a stud fee of € 7,000.

In an interview with Racingpost on the occasion of his 70th birthday, Andre Fabre, France's most successful trainer of all time, described Manduro as by far the best horse he has ever trained.

On June 27, 2020, Manduro died of a heart attack at Haras du Logis.
