Manfred Drotschmann (born March 22, 1933 in Ritterswalde , Neisse district , Upper Silesia province ) is a German farmer and former member of the Hamburg Parliament for the SPD .

Life

Manfred Drotschmann switched from elementary school to grammar school in 1945 - and had to interrupt school due to fleeing or expelling from Silesia. He graduated from elementary school in Hamburg in 1948, began an agricultural apprenticeship and attended an agricultural college from 1951 to 1953. This was followed by studies at the engineering school in Hildesheim from 1956 to 1957 with the examination to become an agricultural engineer .

Since 1959 he has been working as a self-employed farmer on a leasehold in Hamburg-Billwerder . In 1973 he became chairman of the main committee for agriculture and horticulture at the Chamber of Agriculture and in 1974 a member of the board of the Hamburg farmers' association . He is married and has four kids.

In 1964 Manfred Drotschmann joined the SPD. He became district and state delegate and chairman of the local association (district) Billwerder in the Hamburg-Bergedorf district . From 1966 to 1974 he was sent by his party to the deputation of the Ministry of Economics, Transport and Agriculture and as a member of the committee of the same name on the party executive in Bonn .

In 1978 he was elected as a member of the Hamburg parliament. Until 1987 he worked there mainly in the budget committee and in the committee for food and agriculture .
