Manfred Günther (pastor)

Manfred Günther (* 1950 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German Protestant pastor i. R., poetry author and copywriter from Mücke (Hessen) in the Vogelsberg district .

Life

After graduating from high school, Manfred Günther did an apprenticeship in advertising and also worked as a copywriter for a number of years. Then he studied Protestant theology and worked as a country pastor for 25 years until his early retirement in 2003.

Act

In 1979 Günther became the first pastor of Ilsdorf (Mücke), in 1982 his parish "Groß Eichen und Ilsdorf" was officially founded.

Manfred Günther became known nationwide because he developed a homepage called “Predigt-Eichendorf”, which now contains more than 1,000 sermons (sermon archive), several hundred devotions, funeral sermons, psalm songs and other topics. His website with the subtitle “Ev. virt. Landgemeinde Eichendorf "he calls his" guest house ". The homepage also contains constantly updated references to the large collection of current sociopolitical poems in the rhyme form pair rhyme / end rhyme impure, dull, often assonant and shows other curiosities like his joke " Beffchen " collection.

The pastor's poems always appear in advance as a weekly column in the Alsfelder Allgemeine Zeitung . Manfred Günther also gives them at numerous readings in Platt . Günther donates all income from his writing to projects such as "Neue Arbeit GmbH Vogelsberg" or the "Grünberger Tafel ".
