Manfred Gotta (born August 24, 1947 in Nieder-Roden , Hesse ) is a German entrepreneur and copywriter specializing in “ brand name development ”, especially in the automotive sector.

Career

The merchant's son first attended high school, but was later sent to the boarding school of Baden-Baden . Instead of training as a tax consultant in his uncle's office after graduating from high school, as the family actually intended, Gotta began studying business administration at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . However, he broke off his studies and worked for years as a gas station attendant and postman. At almost forty he was a temporary worker in a Frankfurt advertising agency .

Here he gained his first experience in the development of brand names, invented the name Katzenschmaus and finally went into business for himself in 1986 as a name developer and founded the Institute for Brand Name Development , later Gotta GmbH , based in Baden-Baden . Since 2005 the company has been operating as a partnership, Gotta ® Brands , based in the Black Forest village of Forbach-Hundsbach .

Today Gotta is considered a “guru” among German copywriters. For example, he invented brand names such as Megaperls (from Henkel ), Xetra , Congstar , Twingo , Smart , Panamera , Vectra , the company name Evonik Industries for the former RAG-Holding and Targobank (formerly Citibank). Among other things, he invented the names Quipse and Rulantica for Europa-Park .

Other activities

Gotta is an honorary member of the jury for " Top 100 ", an award for the most innovative medium-sized companies in Germany.
