Manfred Hüniken (born May 28, 1928 in Kussow , Güstrow office , Mecklenburg-Schwerin ; † August 21, 2017 ) was a German politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

Hüniken was the son of the landowner Georg-Günther Hüniken. Julius Hüniken (1824–1891) was his great-grandfather. He attended the secondary school in Güstrow until he graduated from high school . After a short captivity, he began an agricultural apprenticeship at the agricultural college in Osnabrück - Melle . From 1950 he was an agricultural engineering teacher at DEULA, the German training institutes for agricultural engineering . In 1953 he took over the development of DEULA in Westerstede .

He was a member of the board of directors of the Landessparkasse zu Oldenburg . In the social association VdK he was honorary chairman of the district association from 1994 and from 1998 until shortly after his 80th birthday in 2008 he was chairman of the regional association.

Hüniken was married and had four children.

politics

From 1967 to 1986 Hüniken was chairman of the CDU district association Ammerland and was then honorary chairman. He was a member of the CDU state committee in Oldenburg and a member of the federal committee for economic policy of the CDU.

He began his community career in 1961 as a councilor in Westerstede. There he became mayor of the city in 1976. He is an honorary citizen and honorary mayor of Westerstede. Since 1964 he was a member of the district assembly of the district Ammerland , since 1968 he was chairman of the CDU district assembly.

For the Landtag constituency Ammerland Hüniken belonged to the Lower Saxony Landtag in the 9th and 10th electoral periods (from June 21, 1978 to June 20, 1986).
