Manfred Kallenbach (born April 8, 1942 in Dresden ; † April 21, 2010 ibid) was a soccer goalkeeper in the GDR league . In the top East German league he played for SG Dynamo Dresden and BSG Stahl Riesa . With Dynamo Dresden he was GDR champion twice and won the GDR soccer cup in 1971 .

Dynamo Dresden

Kallenbach began his sporting career as a handball goalkeeper with the Dresden company sports community Einheit Dresden Süd. In 1960 he moved to SG Dynamo Dresden as a soccer goalkeeper and went through all the youth teams there. After completing school, he completed an apprenticeship as a decorative painter. When in 1966 the end of the league career of regular goalkeeper Peter Noske became apparent, coach Manfred Fuchs brought the 24-year-old Kallenbach into the league team and used him as a goalkeeper between the 19th and 23rd league game. Kallenbach played his first league game on March 19, 1966 in the game between FC Karl-Marx-Stadt and Dynamo Dresden (1: 2). After Noske was eliminated from the league team in the 1966/67 season, Kallenbach was promoted to the goalkeeper of the first team and completed 25 of the 26 played point games that season. In 1968 Kallenbach was relegated with Dynamo Dresden from the league. In the following season in the second-rate GDR league 1968/69 he was replaced by Peter Meyer as a regular goalkeeper and was only used in five of the 30 point games. After Dresden had managed the immediate return to the league, Kallenbach was also in the new league season 1969/70 only reserve goalkeeper behind Meyer, but came to ten league stakes in the second half. In the spring of 1970, Kallenbach regained its regular place in the dynamotor. He also kept it in the 1970/71 season, in which he played in all 26 point games. At the end of the season he had won the GDR soccer championship with his team and was also a cup winner on June 2, 1971 after a 2-1 victory over BFC Dynamo . 1971/72 Kallenbach played 16 league games, but was replaced by 20-year-old Claus Boden on matchday 18 . This took over the regular place in the Dresdner Tor from 1972/73, and Kallenbach came only once on the third match day as a substitute. It was his last of a total of 105 league games for Dynamo Dresden, and he had also played in five European Cup games for the Dresden team. Due to his brief assignment, he was able to adorn himself a second time with the GDR championship title, which Dynamo won again in 1973.

Stahl Riesa

At the beginning of the 1973/74 season Kallenbach moved to the league promoted Stahl Riesa. But even in Riesa he could not get beyond the reserve role and was clearly in the shadow of the goalkeeper Wolfgang Scharf . 1973/74 Kallenbach was ten times in the Riesaer Tor, 1974/75 only in two league games. After the end of this season, the now 33-year-old ended his football career. With his twelve league appearances in Riesa, he had made 117 first division games within ten years.
