Manfred Mühr (born May 31, 1967 in Vienna ) is an Austrian chartered accountant and former ice hockey striker . He completed 14 seasons in the Bundesliga and was captain of the national team for five years .

Athletic career

Manfred Mühr played for WAT Stadlau in 1984/85 and then switched to EC KAC , where he was under contract until 1990. With the Klagenfurt team he won the championship title of the Austrian ice hockey league three times before he played with derby rivals EC VSV from 1990 to 1995, where he was able to become twice champion and twice runner-up. After a season at Wiener EV , he played again for Klagenfurt in 1996/97 and was runner-up. He only returned to the ice after four years and played his last Bundesliga season for the Vienna Capitals in 2001/02 . Then he still played in the Vienna League and Oberliga.

Mühr was also a member of the national team, with which he played 133 games. In 1992 he made it to the A-World Cup class with the team and led the team as team captain at four subsequent A-World Championships. The greatest success was the eighth place at the A World Cup in 1994. He was also a member of the national team at the Olympic Winter Games in 1988 (9th place) and 1994 (12th place).

Manfred Mühr completed a degree in business administration from 1987 to 1996 at the University of Klagenfurt with a focus on corporate finance, taxation and controlling. He worked as a tax consultant trainee in Vienna until the end of 2000, before taking over a tax consultancy firm in Hernals as a self-employed person on January 1, 2001 .
