Manfred Pointner (also Mannfred Pointner ; born February 5, 1943 in Franzheim ) is a Bavarian politician ( free voters ).

Functions

From 1996 to 2008 he was the district administrator of the Upper Bavarian district of Freising for the free voters . After retiring from the Freising District Office for reasons of age , he ran for the Free Voters of Bavaria in the 2008 state elections and was elected to the Bavarian State Parliament via the Freising constituency of the Upper Bavaria district list . He was a member of the Committee for State Budget and Financial Matters and the Parliamentary Control Committee of the Bavarian State Parliament as well as the financial policy spokesman for the FREE VOTERS parliamentary group. He did not run for the 2013 state election . At the beginning of December 2014 he was elected chairman of the protection association Erding-Nord, Freising and the surrounding area, succeeding Michael Schwaiger , who was no longer running after nine years in office.

Life

Pointner is a lawyer and began his career in 1984 as the mayor of Hallbergmoos , where he was in office until 1990. Pointner's tenure was particularly marked by dealing with the construction of Munich Airport . In 1996 he stood for the party-free voters as a district administrator candidate. Until 2008 Manfred Pointner was district administrator of the Upper Bavarian district of Freising .

Since taking office as district administrator, he has been particularly committed to the general renovation of the district hospital and the construction of a special school center. He continued to take a critical look at Munich Airport, including as chairman of the aircraft noise commission. His successor as District Administrator was Michael Schwaiger (Free Voters) on May 1, 2008 .

From 2003 to 2008 he was a member of the District Assembly of Upper Bavaria in the following positions:

  • Committee on Construction, Environment and Water Management
  • Personnel Committee
  • Representative of the district in the association assembly in the Association of Bavarian Districts

Pointner ran for the state elections in 2008 with the aim of preventing the third runway at Munich Airport.

He is the 1st chairman of the Free Voters - Freising district. He is married and has four kids.

Awards

At the suggestion of Prime Minister Edmund Stoiber , Federal President Johannes Rau awarded the Freising District Administrator Manfred Pointner with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2002. The Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver was awarded to him by State Parliament President Barbara Stamm on December 1, 2014.
