Josef Hauner

Josef Hauner (born May 4, 1951 in Freising ) is a Bavarian politician ( CSU ) and was district administrator of the Upper Bavarian district of Freising from 2014 to 2020 .

Life

Hauner was born in Freising as the son of an innkeeper and graduated from the Josef-Hofmiller-Gymnasium . Hauner completed a teaching degree at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and then worked as a teacher at various schools in the Freising district . In 1985 he worked for 5 years in the department “Technical issues in elementary and secondary schools” in the Ministry of Education . Then he became the rector of a primary school in Unterschleißheim . In 1995 he moved to the Freising School Authority as a school councilor, which he headed from 2004 as school authority director. Hauner is married and has a daughter and a son.

politics

Hauner joined the Junge Union and the CSU in 1969 and was chairman of the JU Freising from 1973. In 1978 he was elected to the city council of Freising, of which he was a member until 2008. From 1990 to 2008 he was mayor under the mayors of Schäfer and Thalhammer . Since 1984 he has also been a member of the Freising district council for 30 years. In 2014 he ran for the election of the district administrator of the Freising district. The incumbent District Administrator Michael Schwaiger was no longer running. In the runoff election he was able to prevail against Rainer Schneider from the free voters with 53.45%. For reasons of age, Hauner did not run for the local elections in Bavaria 2020 . Helmut Petz was elected as his successor .
