Adolf Schäfer
Adolf Winfried Schäfer (born January 11, 1937 - December 5, 2009 ) was a Bavarian local politician ( SPD ).
Schäfer had a doctorate in law. In 1970 he surprisingly prevailed as a 33-year-old non-Freissinger against 2nd Mayor Georg Klimm of the CSU in the OB election. Until 1994 he was Lord Mayor of the Upper Bavarian district town of Freising . Originally elected for the SPD, he switched to the Independent Freising Citizens in 1978. During his term of office, the regional reform in Bavaria fell with the loss of district freedom and the expansion of the urban area of Freising as well as the planning of Munich II airport in Erdinger Moos. a. played an important role as chairman of the aircraft noise commission. Schäfer caused u. a. also the construction of the west road to Lerchenfeld. He was also a member of the Freising District Council from 1972 to 2002 . In his free time he also devoted himself to the renovation of Lichtenhaag Castle in Lower Bavaria.
