Franz Seraph Sporrer (* 1799 in Freising ; † 1865 ) was an innkeeper and mayor of the city of Freising.

Sporrer was born the son of the chopper. In 1825 he married the widowed owner of the Heiglbräuhaus . In 1834 he acquired the two neighboring houses: the Heigl bakery and the Weindlbräu inn . All three buildings were demolished and the building of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof , which still exists today, was erected. At times Sporrer was the richest citizen of Freising. In 1848 he became mayor of Freising. During this time he also built the Sporrerkeller on the site of the former St. Veit Abbey on Weihenstephaner Berg (now the Lindenkeller). Other political offices followed. He was a member of the district administrator of the Isarkkreis, Member of the City Chamber and Major in the Landwehr. In 1853 he resigned as mayor and retired into private life.

The Sporrergasse next to the Hotel Bayerischer Hof bears his name.
