Manfred Röber

Manfred Röber (born October 18, 1947 in Berlin ) is a German economist .

Life

From 1967 to 1971 he studied sociology at the Free University of Berlin (graduate sociologist). From 1971 to 1972 he worked in the planning group of the Senate Administration for Family, Youth and Sport in Berlin. From 1969 to 1973 he studied business administration at the Free University of Berlin (Diplom-Kaufmann). From 1974 to 1977 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Corporate Management at the Free University of Berlin. From 1977 to 1979 he was a research assistant at the Chair of General Business Administration and Organization at the University of Mannheim . After receiving his doctorate in Mannheim in 1979 , he was deputy head of department from 1979 to 1981 (budget department at the Senator for Finances in Berlin). From 1981 to 1999 he taught as a professor of administrative science at the FHVR Berlin . From 1986 to 1996 he was a lecturer at the Otto Suhr Institute at the Free University of Berlin. From 1991 to 2007 he was co-organizer of the Berlin-Brandenburg Administrative Policy Colloquium at the Humboldt University in Berlin . In 1996 he was visiting professor at the Institute for Administrative Management at the University of Innsbruck . In 1998 he was visiting professor at the University of Central Lancashire . From 1999 to 2007 he taught as a professor for public management at the Berlin University of Technology and Economics . In 2003 he was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley . From 2007 to 2013 he taught as Professor for Administrative Management / New Public Management at the University of Leipzig . From 2008 to 2012 he was the Dean of Studies at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Leipzig . Since 2013 he has been Professor emeritus at the Chair for Public Management, Faculty of Economics at the University of Leipzig. In 2014 he was visiting professor at Sofia University . Since 2016 he has been teaching as a professor of business administration at Andrássy University Budapest (within the DAAD's Herder program ).
