Manfred Roßner (born April 2, 1941 in Pößneck ; † March 17, 2008 in Leipzig ) was a German football referee .

In 1974 he was appointed to the series of the GDR Oberliga -reeferees of the German Football Association, he headed 166 games in the top division of the GDR until 1990. In 1980 he was appointed to the FIFA list of referees and in 1984 at the U-16 European Championship in Germany . He whistled five full international matches and was a referee in 66 international matches. At the European Football Championship in Germany in 1988 , he was a line judge in the England - Ireland game (0: 1).

After the merger of the German Football Association (DFV) and the German Football Association ( DFB ), he was a member of the DFB's referee staff from 1990 to 1998. Also from 1990 onwards, as a member of the referee committee of the Thuringian Football Association , the Pößneck born member made outstanding contributions to the promotion of the next generation. He founded the “Rennsteiger” sponsorship group and gave it this name.

In the East Thuringian Football District (OTFB) he headed the office for a longer period. After a long illness, he died at the age of 66 in the Leipzig University Hospital .
