Manfred Schilder (born January 4, 1958 in Memmingen ) is a German politician and Lord Mayor of the Swabian city ​​of Memmingen. He belongs to the CSU .

Life

Manfred Schilder grew up in the Swabian town of Memmingen in Bavaria . From 1964 to 1968 he attended the elementary school in Memmingen and then the Bernhard-Strigel-Gymnasium up to the secondary school leaving certificate in 1975. Then he attended the technical college in Memmingen , which he graduated in 1977 with the technical college entrance qualification. He studied business administration at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich and graduated with a degree in business administration. Until 1989 he was company commander of an armored infantry company in the Bundeswehr. In 1989 he moved to the Memminger Brewery , where he was head of the financial accounting and controlling department until 1994. From 1995 to 1997 he worked as a freelance management consultant and trainer. In 1997 he moved to the Swabian Chamber of Commerce and Industry as regional manager. At the airport Memmingen he was from 2008 to 2011, commercial managing director. From there he went back to the Swabian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where he was regional manager for the Allgäu area .

Schilder was elected to the Memmingen City Council in the 2014 local elections. On March 19, 2017, he was elected Lord Mayor of the City of Memmingen by the SPD with 51.54% and 474 votes more than his rival Friedrich Zeller . Two months later he was elected chairman of the transnational regional association Donau-Iller .

Manfred Schilder has been married to Karin Schilder since 1983 and has two grown-up children. He lives in the Hart district of Memmingen .
