Manfred Sihle-Wissel (born March 28, 1934 in Tallinn ) is a German sculptor .

Life

Manfred Sihle-Wissel was born in Tallinn, Estonia. After the “resettlement” in Wartheland in 1939, he fled to Hamburg in 1945. There he studied from 1954 to 1959 at the Hamburg School of Applied Arts . His teachers were Edwin Scharff and Hans Martin Ruwoldt . Since 1981 he has lived and worked in Brammer near Rendsburg (Schleswig-Holstein).

On the occasion of his eightieth birthday, the Schleswig-Holstein State Museum honored Manfred Sihle-Wissel in 2014 with a retrospective in the riding hall of Gottorf Castle . The Gerisch Foundation , Neumünster, took its 85th birthday as an opportunity to show over 200 works from six decades in an exhibition entitled "Ago Egi Actum".
