Manfred Steiner (born January 3, 1950 ) is a former Austrian football player on the position of a defender . His last club was SK Sturm Graz , where he spent almost his entire career.

Career

Steiner first played at SVU Murau and later at SC Bruck. He came into focus when he moved to Kapfenberg to join the sports association involved in the regional league . In 1972 he received an offer from Bundesliga club SK Sturm Graz , which he also accepted. So he moved to the Styrian capital Graz and played for the Blackies continuously from the 1972/73 season to 1984 , before he announced his retirement from active professional football in autumn 1984. Steiner played 245 games for Graz and scored nine goals. He also celebrated great successes with the traditional black and white club, such as B. 1976 with reaching the quarter-finals of the European Cup and 1984 with reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Cup .
