Manfred Wende

Manfred Wende (born December 23, 1927 in Breslau ; † August 3, 2015 in Stuttgart ) was a German journalist and politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Wende attended high school in Stuttgart , but had to interrupt his school attendance and took part in the Second World War as an air force helper from 1943 to 1945 . After the end of the war he continued his school career, graduated from high school in 1947 and worked as a journalist for Süddeutscher Rundfunk (SDR) from 1948 , including as program manager for radio advertising.

Political party

Wende joined the SPD in 1962 and has been deputy chairman of the SPD district association Waiblingen since 1966 .

MP

Wende was a council member of the city ​​of Reutlingen from 1965 to 1969 and a member of the district council of the Waiblingen district from 1971 to 1973 . After the municipal reorganization , he was a member of the Rems-Murr district from 1973 to 1978 . He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1969 to 1976. In parliament he represented the constituency of Waiblingen.
