Manfred Zöllmer
Manfred Helmut Zöllmer (born August 29, 1950 in Bülkau ) is a German politician ( SPD ).
He was a member of the German Bundestag from October 2002 to 2017 and served on the finance committee from 2009 .
Life and work
After graduating from the Max-Planck-Gymnasium in Dortmund in 1970 , Zöllmer studied economics , business administration and social sciences at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum , which he completed in 1976 with the first state examination for teaching at high schools. In 1977 he also passed the second state examination and has since worked as a teacher at the Bergisches Kolleg in Wuppertal . From 1998 he was director of studies and deputy headmaster.
Political party
Zöllmer joined the SPD in 1972 and has been a member of the executive committee of the SPD sub-district of Wuppertal since 2000. He was also the spokesman for the consumer policy discussion group of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation .
MP
From 1989 to 2002 he was a member of the council of the city of Wuppertal and was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group from 1999 to 2002.
From 2002 Zöllmer was a member of the German Bundestag . From October 2004 to November 2005 he was deputy spokesman for the working group on consumer protection, nutrition and agriculture of the SPD parliamentary group . From November 2005 to September 2009 he was vice chairman of the Committee on Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection. After his re-election in 2009, he was a member of the Finance Committee and deputy chairman of the German-Brazilian parliamentary group. From 2012 he was also deputy financial policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group . In the 18th German Bundestag he was a member of the committee pursuant to Section 23c (8) of the Customs Investigation Service Act .
