The Mannheimer Straße is a street in the northwest of downtown Heilbronn . It turns into Weinsberger Straße in the east and leads to Europaplatz in the west. The federal highways B 27 and B 39 run through it , which is why it is an important traffic artery in the north of the city.
After the arms of the Neckar near the Bollwerksturm were filled in with the ruins of the old town after the Second World War , Mannheimer Strasse was inaugurated on the old river bed in 1954 and named after the city of Mannheim . From April 2011 new lanes and turning lanes were created for the northern tramway , as Paulinenstraße and Schaeuffelenstraße were converted into one-way streets.
Buildings
- Part of the theater forum K3 is located south-east on the border with Weinsberger Straße .
- Directly next to the K3 is a test field for the visually impaired, which connects Mannheimer Strasse with Sülmermühlstrasse.
- The education campus with several educational institutions has been located in the north-western part of the street since 2008.
- In the middle of the street there is one entrance to the Kolbenschmidt Arena and one to the city car park at Bollwerksturm.
- In the northwest, south of the street, is the REV Rollsportstadion, built in the early 1970s, and the campus park , which was upgraded for the 2020 Federal Horticultural Show. Before that, there was also a mini golf course and an outdoor sports area for the dam school on the site .
