Manuel Agyao

Manuel S. Agyao is a Philippine Civil and politicians of the Liberal Party (LP), which since 2007 member of the House of Representatives is.

Life

Civil engineer and deputy minister

After attending school, Agyao completed a degree in civil engineering , which he completed in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BS Civil Eng.). He then worked as an engineer at the Atlantic Golf and Pacific Corporation between June 1965 and 1967 , before moving to the public service on August 5, 1968 and working as a civil engineer in the Department of Public Highways . From January 4, 1971 to February 28, 1981, he worked as a senior engineer in the resulting Bureau of Public Highways and then until February 28, 1987 as a responsible engineer in the resulting Ministry of Public Highways ( Ministry of Public Highways ) and most recently as a construction supervision engineer in the Ministry of Public Works and Highways .

On March 1, 1987, Aygao became the responsible engineer in the now Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Ministry of Public Works and Roads. There he became director of the DPWH in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) on June 28, 1995 after completing his postgraduate studies in administrative sciences at the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao , which he completed with a Master of Public Administration (MPA) Provinces of Abra , Apayao , Benguet , Ifugao , Kalinga and the Mountain Province .

Most recently, Agyao was from April 3, 2002 to December 8, 2006 Vice Minister for Public Works and Highways ( Assistant Secretary for Public Works and Highways ).

Member of the House of Representatives

In the elections of May 14, 2007, Agyao was elected for the first time to the House of Representatives for the Lakas Democratic Cong Kristiyano at Muslim (Lakas-Kampi) and has since represented the Kalinga constituency , the only constituency in Kalinga Province. In the elections on May 10, 2010 , he was re-elected with 71,255 votes (74.99 percent) and was able to clearly prevail against the then candidate of the Liberal Party, James Bejarin, who received 23,769 votes (25.01 percent). He was re-elected in the elections on May 13, 2013 with 46,930 votes (67.14 percent) and was able to prevail against the candidate of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA), Macario Duguiang, who got 22,968 votes (32.86 percent) . In the current 16th legislative period , which runs from 2013 to 2016  , he is chairman of the House Committee for Rural Development . This is responsible for all matters that deal with the development of rural areas and islands through political regulations, programs, support services and other interventions in order to develop living conditions and businesses there. This also includes small loans, community mobilization and development, area development planning and access to funding and funding for rural projects.

Since Agyao has reached the maximum consecutive eligibility of nine years, he will not be allowed to run again in the upcoming elections on May 9, 2016 , and will therefore be eliminated from the House of Representatives.
