Manuel Domingos Augusto (born September 2, 1957 in Luanda ) is an Angolan diplomat and politician .

Life

Manuel Domingos Augusto held various posts as a diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and at foreign missions and became ambassador to Zambia in 1995 , where he remained until 1999. He was also ambassador to Ethiopia between 2005 and 2010 .

After João Lourenço was sworn in as the new President of Angola on September 26, 2017 , Augusto was appointed Foreign Minister in his cabinet on September 28, 2017 to succeed Georges Rebelo Pinto Chikoti . Salviano de Jesus Sequeira was appointed to this cabinet as Minister of Defense, while Interior Minister Angelo de Barros da Veiga Tavares and Finance Minister Archer Mangueira retained their posts. Manuel Domingos Augusto is also a member of the Politburo and the Central Committee of the MPLA.
