Manuela Ripa

Manuela Ripa (* 1976 in Saarbrücken ) is a German lawyer and politician ( ÖDP ). She has been a member of the European Parliament since July 2020 .

Career

Ripa grew up in Saarbrücken, the city of her birth, where she graduated from high school at Rotenbühl . After studying languages ​​for a year in London and Oxford , she began studying law at Saarland University . She completed her legal clerkship and also the second state examination in North Rhine-Westphalia.

After positions in the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf and at the European Commission in Brussels , she also worked in the Federal Ministry of Health . Since 2011 she has worked as a consultant for the Saarland State Representation in Brussels. In the 2019 European elections , she took second place on the list of the Ecological Democratic Party (ÖDP). She initially missed entry into the European Parliament, but moved up on July 15, 2020 for the outgoing MEP Klaus Buchner .

Ripa is married and has two children.
