Marc-André Fournier ( Serbian - Cyrillic Марк-Андре Фурнье ; born April 5, 1979 in Saint Nicolas , Québec , Canada ) is a former Serbian - Canadian ice hockey player who became Serbian champion in 2010 with HK Partizan Belgrade .

Career

Marc-André Fournier began his career as an ice hockey player in his Canadian homeland, where he played in various youth teams. From 2000 to 2004 he studied at the Catholic Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, USA and played for their ice hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association . Then he went to Europe for the first time and played there for HC Turin in the Italian Serie A1 , but had to accept relegation with his team as bottom of the table. So he first returned to Canada and played for Prolab de Thetford Mines in the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey . In 2006 he dared to make the leap to Europe again and initially played three years for HK Vojvodina Novi Sad in the Serbian ice hockey league . He then moved to HK Partizan Belgrade , with whom he became Serbian national champion in 2010 . After this success, he moved back to the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey, where he was on the ice for 3L de Rivière-du-Loup . Most recently he played under class for Ste-Anne-de-la-Pérade GLT, where he ended his career in 2013.

International

Fournier, who was naturalized during his time in Novi Sad, played for the first time at the 2009 World Cup in Division II for Serbia . After he had made a significant contribution to the promotion with four goals and eight assists, he played with the team in 2010 in Division I (Group A), where they could not keep up. Most recently he played again in Division II at the 2011 World Cup .
