Marc Bottollier-Lasquin (born August 17, 1979 in Annecy ) is a former French ski racer . His specialty was downhill .

biography

Bottollier-Lasquin contested his first FIS race in January 1995, two years later he started in the European Cup for the first time . He celebrated his first international successes at the Junior World Championships in 1999 , where he finished eighth in the downhill as the best Frenchman. In 2000 he reached second place behind Pierre-Emmanuel Dalcin at the French Downhill Championships .

Bottollier-Lasquin made his debut in the World Cup on December 9, 2000 in the downhill from Val-d'Isère . A week later, he finished 20th, also in a downhill run in Val-d'Isère, and scored World Cup points for the first time. On December 8, 2001, he again managed to finish 13th in the downhill from Val-d'Isère, which would remain his best World Cup result for a long time. In the next three seasons he often did not reach the World Cup points.

The Frenchman achieved two good results again in the 2006/07 season : on December 28, 2006 he finished eleventh in the downhill from Bormio and on February 23, 2007 he even came seventh in the downhill from Garmisch-Partenkirchen - his best World Cup result. At the 2007 World Championships in Åre , he finished 15th as the best Frenchman. In the 2007/08 season, however, he was unable to continue these successes, he was only among the top 30 three times.

After the 2008/09 season started badly, Bottollier-Lasquin announced his retirement from active ski racing after leaving Beaver Creek . In total, he competed in 60 downhill runs, 20 super Gs and 3 super combinations in his World Cup career and took part in world championships once. For the Olympic Games, however, he could never qualify within the French team.
