Marc Fitze (born March 18, 1974 in Bern ) is a Swiss organist and art harmonium specialist. He teaches organ at the Bern Conservatory and is organist at the Heiliggeistkirche Bern , where he oversees the church music and the concert series of the " BarockZentrum Heiliggeistkirche Bern ".

Life

Marc Fitze studied at the Basel Music Academy in Guy Bovet's organ class and at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston / USA with Yuko Hayashi. He completed his studies in Basel with a teaching diploma and a soloist diploma and was awarded the Hans Balmer Prize for the best organ diploma of the year in 2002. He made further studies with Marie-Claire Alain , Jean Boyer, William Porter, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini , Peter Planyavsky and Joris Verdin.

He has made radio and CD recordings in Switzerland and the USA . He is a member of the Association des Amis de l'Art de Marcel Dupré and, as successor to Marie-Claire Alain, Vice-President of the International Jehan Alain Society based in Romainmôtier . His concert activity includes appearances in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, France, England, Spain, Ukraine, Mexico, Israel, the Netherlands, the USA and Japan. He was a guest at the Lucerne Festival , the Minato Mirail Hall Yokohama , the Église St. Clotilde de Paris , Victoria Hall Geneva, the International Organ Festival Rapallo and St. Bavo Haarlem.

He has also specialized in the art harmonium and its historical performance practice and owns a private collection of historical Mustel harmonium instruments. Since 2009 he has performed as a solo harmonium player and as a newcomer in larger ensembles ( Wiener Symphoniker , Musikkollegium Winterthur , Bern Symphony Orchestra and Zurich Chamber Orchestra ).
