Marc de Broissia (born  August 18, 1948 in Marigna sur Valouse , France ) is a French riding instructor who taught the rules of classic riding up to high school .

Career

Marc de Broissia is the son of Louis de Broissia; the family has been linked to the equestrian tradition for generations. Marc de Broissia therefore started riding as a child and decided to continue the tradition of his family. At the age of 21 he received his diploma as a riding instructor and was particularly enthusiastic about show jumping. In the early 1970s he left his home country and worked on a Trakehner stud near Worms . Here he became increasingly interested in dressage riding. He received his further training at the Egon von Neindorff riding school in Karlsruhe and first came into contact with Iberian horses, which fascinated him.

After completing his training, he returned to France and ran a stud there. This was followed by further training at the Portuguese stud Alter Réal and then a stay in Seville with Rafael Jurado. There de Broissia mainly dealt with the Spanish riding styles Doma Vaquera and Alta Escuela .

In the 1980s, de Broissia specialized in training Iberian horses , Lipizzaners and Frisians . The foundations of his training method are the teachings of the classic riding masters such as Francois Baucher , Francois Robichon de la Guérinière and Gustav Steinbrecht . De Broissia relies on slowness during horse training. His training is based entirely on the needs of the horses. Horse and rider should merge into a unit in which the horse comes into its own.

He is considered a pioneer of the baroque horse scene in Germany. He has been living in Germany since the 2000s, setting up training stables , giving courses across Europe and performing with his Lusitano stallion Guapo at art exhibitions, classical concerts, shows and trade fairs. Siglavy, a Lipizzaner stallion trained by de Broissia , also rides at his shows at Circus Krone .

De Broissia has lived in the Allgäu since 2019.
