Marcel Schreter (born September 29, 1981 in Innsbruck ) is an Austrian football player . He has been playing for WSG Wattens since 2015 .

life and career

Born in Tyrol, he began his career with SV Telfs from the Telfs municipality . In 2002 he moved to WSG Wattens , which later became the new FC Wacker Tirol . After the promotion from the third to the second division , Schreter stayed with the Innsbruck team.

The following year the title in the first division was achieved with the left foot as a regular player. In 2004 he made his debut in the Bundesliga .

After having held a regular position at Innsbruck as a midfielder for years, he began to cause a sensation in the 2008/09 season due to the danger of goals: In 28 games he scored no less than 10 goals - more than in the previous 5 seasons. This trend continued in the 2009/10 season, in which he was increasingly used as a striker. With 17 goals in 33 games, including two goals in the decisive game for the title, he was Innsbruck's most successful goalscorer and thus significantly involved in the promotion to the top division. With FC Wacker Innsbruck, Schreter was two points ahead of FC Admira Wacker Mödling, champion of the second-rate Austrian first division in the 2009/10 season and thus rose with the team to the Bundesliga.

After three Bundesliga seasons , Schreter moved to second division SC Austria Lustenau in the summer of 2013 , where he stayed for two seasons before moving back to WSG Wattens in 2015.
