Marcel Uderzo
Marcel Uderzo (born December 20, 1933 in Clichy-sous-Bois ) is a French cartoonist . He is the brother of Albert Uderzo .
Live and act
Marcel Uderzo was born the youngest of five children of Italian immigrants, Silvio Uderzo and Iria Crestini. In 1938 the family moved to the rue de Montreuil in the 11th arrondissement of Paris .
After school he learned the craft of violin making like his father . In 1964, his relationship with his father deteriorated as he wanted to sell the family business and retire. At that time he turned to comics professionally.
He then discovered his talent for drawing and apprenticed as a comic book author to his brother Albert . At the same time he continued to work with his father.
After a little over two years, he picked up the brush again in September 1967. He was working on Asterix again . Asterix among the Belgians , for whom he made the banquet on the last page as a parody of the picture The Peasant Wedding by Pieter Bruegel the Elder , was the last volume he was involved in. In 1977 he recorded the album 12 Exams for Asterix .
After working as his brother's assistant for eleven years between 1966 and 1979, he finally ended his collaboration with his brother in 1979 because there were tensions in their daily work. In January 1980 he started his own work: Les Mémoires de Mathias (German: Matti tells ).
In the years of individual work, he mostly published one-shot albums.
He mostly worked with Moloch (Michel Clatigny).
Marcel Uderzo has been living in Upper Normandy for a number of years with the colorist Monique-Hélène Ott, with whom he designed several books .
