Marcelo Gracés (born February 3, 1976 in Flores , † March 31, 2013 in Montevideo ) was a Uruguayan road cyclist .

Gracés, who started cycling at the age of four, was a member of the Club Olímpico Juvenil in Trinidad during his career . In that city he spent most of his athletic career. He later moved to Porongos in Flores . In the 2011/12 season he formed a successful team in the Brou Flores team with his teammates Ignacio Maldonado , Gabriel Richard , Emanuel Yanes , Roderick Asconeguy , Jorge Soto , Luis "Tamango" Martínez and Matías Médici .

The married father of three daughters, who lives in Maldonado , was a member of the Club Ciclista Fénix in 2013 . He fell on the last stage of the Vuelta Ciclista del Uruguay 2013 when he collided with an escort motorcycle during the time trial after a broken handlebar on the Rambla not far from Plaza Gomensoro . At this point, Gracés was 57th overall with the best intermediate time in the lead in the stage classification. On the first stage of that tour he had previously occupied the third place and on the fifth stage the second place. Gracés, who was transferred to the Asociación Española with severe head injuries as well as respiratory and cardiac arrest , died on admission to the hospital.
