Marco Königs (born January 25, 1990 in Solingen ) is a German football player . The striker is currently under contract with Preußen Münster .

Career

Marco Königs played for a long time in his hometown Solingen at the football club Solingen 03 during his youth, before he moved to the youth department of TuSpo Richrath for the second half of the 2005/06 season. In the second half of the current season he helped the team to the privilege of playing in the Niederrheinliga next year without qualifying with a few goals. In the 2006/07 season he was runner-up with the team in the Lower Rhine League, just behind Fortuna Düsseldorf. Marco Königs was the top scorer this season with 40 goals.

In the summer of 2007 he then moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf's U-19 team . A year later he made the jump to the team of Fortuna Düsseldorf II, which he played in the NRW League from then on . After the Düsseldorf Reserve rose to Regionalliga West , he impressed with seven goals in 25 games in the 2009/10 season and was appointed to Fortuna's first team for the 2010/11 season .

Due to some injuries this season, he was only used again at the end of the season in the Düsseldorf reserve, which he actively supported to keep the class. Also in his second professional year, the 2011/12 season, he was part of the squad of the second division team of Fortuna Düsseldorf. Again, however, he consistently helped out in the reserve games on the weekends. After a very convincing first half of the 2011/12 season in the dress of the Düsseldorf Reserve with nine goals and six assists in 17 games, Königs moved to the 3rd division at Preußen Münster in January 2012 , where he signed a contract until 2013. Königs has played for SV Wehen Wiesbaden since the 2013/14 season. In the winter break of 2014/15, Königs moved to Jahn Regensburg . The striker was able to score six goals in his 15 appearances for the Upper Palatinate, but this was not enough to prevent the Regensburg team from relegating to the Bavarian regional league at the end of the season . King's scoring did not go unnoticed by the competitors in the 3rd division and so he was able to sign a contract for the coming third division season with Fortuna Cologne shortly after the end of the season . After a successful season with 16 goals this season, he moved to the second division club Würzburger Kickers in the 2016/17 season . With Würzburg, Königs rose directly from the 2nd Bundesliga in seventh place in the table . In this second division season, Königs made 28 appearances and made two appearances in the DFB Cup . In the following season , Königs scored twice in 23 league games in the opponent's goal. He also received a brief appearance in the DFB Cup against Bundesliga club Werder Bremen . At the end of the 2017/18 season he narrowly missed promotion to the second division with the Kickers from Würzburg.

In the summer of 2018, the third division Hansa Rostock secured the services of King. He signed a two-year working paper on the Baltic coast. Under coach Pavel Dotchev , he made his starting line-up debut on matchday 1 at the away game in Cottbus (0: 3). In 39 mandatory games, the striker scored eleven goals and five assists and won the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Cup with the team in spring 2019 .

During the winter break of the 2019/20 season, Königs moved to his old club Preußen Münster and received a contract that was valid until the end of the season.
